Board Members Lee County Injury Prevention Coalition:Chairperson: Lowell Gerson, Ph.D. Professor Emeritus of Epidemiology at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and Senior Scientist in the Emergency Medicine Research Center at Summa Health System Hospitals. Dr. Gerson is a pioneer and leader in geriatric emergency medicine with particular interests in injury prevention. He was a visiting senior scientist at the CDC National Center for Injury. He currently chairs the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Geriatric Task Force and represents that society on the American Geriatrics Society Council for the Section on Surgical and Related Medical Specialties. He is a member of a NCIPC scientific review panel and is Associate Editor of Academic Emergency Medicine. He authored over 150 papers and presentations. Vice-Chairperson: Syndi Bultman, R.N., Injury Prevention/Resource Manager Emergency Services, LMHS Syndi Bultman has been an R.N. for the past 23 years, the last 17 of which have been working in the Emergency Department at Lee Memorial Health System. This extensive Emergency Department experience allowed her to see first-hand the devastation of preventable injuries and led her to her current role of providing injury prevention education to all age groups in Lee County and the surrounding areas. Her responsibilities include coordinating her injury prevention efforts with those of the Lee County Health Department, Emergency Medical Services, and local Law Enforcement agencies. Secretary: Diane Holm Lee County Public Safety, Public Information Officer Diane Holm is responsible for Public Information and Public Education for Lee County’s Division of Public Safety. Public Safety includes the departments of Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Management, E911, and Emergency Dispatch. She is certified to teach water safety, bike and pedestrian safety, child passenger safety, and CPR. She schedules all education events, activities and speakers for EMS. She is a member of the very active South West Florida Drowning Prevention Committee, formerly known as SWIM Lee, having just stepped down as chair after serving in that capacity for seven years. She is the immediate past president, and still serves on the executive board of the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA). Diane developed and promoted many successful drowning prevention campaigns in the county, state and US; and has an extensive media background as a television reporter and newspaper columnist. She is certified through the advanced level in FEMA’s Incident Command System. Board members: Jay Anderson Executive Director, Stay Alive …. Just Drive! Traffic safety advocate Jay Anderson is the Executive Director of Stay Alive …. Just Drive! A retired EMS Captain, he serves as a Fire Commissioner with the South Trail Fire District and sits on the Board of Directors of the Lee County Injury Prevention Coalition (IPC). He is also a member of the Community Traffic Safety Team (CTST) the Traffic Intervention Management Team (TIMS) the Hwy 27 Safety Task Force and the Behavioral Health Community Roundtable. Anderson writes articles regarding the dangers of distracted driving for numerous publications and is an instructor for the Lee Memorial Health Systems Trauma Services Young Drivers Program and the court ordered High Risk Drivers Course. Dave Kainrad Administrative Coordinator, Public Safety, EMS David Kainrad has served Lee County Public Safety/EMS for 27 years. His experience includes being co-chair of the IPC with Glenda Wolnik for several years.David has been instrumental in the continued success of the IPC and his most recent endeavor has been extensive mission work in India. Scheiner Law Firm Mike Scott – Sheriff, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Board Members for Safe Kids - Lee County:Chairperson: Michele King Vice-Chairperson: Alise Flanjack Coordinator: Elizabeth Moreno Board Members: Kim Herrmann Brad Pollins Dan Moser Dan is a long-time promoter of pedestrian and cyclist rights and bike/ped educator. He is the Program Manager for Florida Bicycle Association (FBA) and a League Cycling Instructor (LCI) for the League of American Bicyclists, Bike Florida, and Lee County EMS. Previously he was the Bike/Ped Coordinator for the Lee County Health Department. Since the early 1980s Dan served on many transportation, transit, and bike/ped boards and committees and is a past-president of Fort Myers Track Club.
